The College Republicans of America (CRA) would like to congratulate the Boston College, Clemson University, and Pepperdine University CRs on successfully recruiting over 500 new freshman members to their chapters! The Pepperdine, Boston College, and Clemson CR presidents have expressed optimism and reflection regarding the new recruitments.

James Markis, President of the College Republicans chapter at Boston College commented on the successful recruiting operation, mentioning that their chapter had very high hopes about the tabling - adding that their goal was to surpass last year’s total of 40 new recruits.

“We actively recruited kids who walked by our table, as many of the conservatives on campus are afraid to publicize their beliefs. We found a lot of students to be ‘recently converted’ conservatives, who have become both dissatisfied with the Democratic Party and overall just fed up with the radical proposals that are being advanced. Many of these people just want a social environment where they can interact with like-minded people and find a great group of core friends at [Boston College]. We hope to build on this momentum throughout the school year and continue to provide a conservative environment for students on campus.”

William Thompson, President of Pepperdine University College Republicans, reflected on the influx of new members. “I am thrilled to see such an incredible surge in interest and enthusiasm on campus. We remain steadfast in our mission to empower the next generation of conservative leaders and are excited for what’s to come.”

Clemson CR president Trevor Tiedeman added his own remarks:  “As one of the oldest clubs at Clemson, we are ecstatic about this new class of enthusiastic freshmen [who] have signed up to join our organization. We hope to continue fostering true conservative values on campus through bold statements and grassroots volunteering in politics both nationally and locally!”

Upon hearing the news, Will Donahue, President of College Republicans of America, reflected upon the past struggles with recruitment. “Covid destroyed our membership and we’ve had to claw back over the last 3 years. It fills me with hope to see that our large chapters are finally recovering and bringing in a freshman class that is motivated and conservative. The future is bright for the College Republicans.”

The CRA is as excited and motivated as ever about this upcoming year and we wish nothing but the best to all the chapters and their new members!
