CRA Joins the RNC, Members Make Several High-Profile Media Appearances
The College Republicans of America made waves at the Republican National Convention by scoring a load of media appearances, including print, broadcast, and even the convention stage. Senior CRA leadership, namely President Will Donahue, Vice President of Outreach Gabe Guidarini, and Vice President of Public Affairs Billy Blathras, and a handful of other members were in the spotlight last week.
Vice President Gabe Guidarini made his appearance on the RNC stage on the fourth night by leading the pledge of allegiance, with Gabe calling it a “huge honor.”
“Leading attendees in the pledge of allegiance on the fourth night of the RNC was a huge honor for me and our entire organization. On the historic night when President Trump accepted the Republican nomination for President of the United States, we were able to demonstrate how patriotic Generation Z is and how truly dedicated we are to this generational battle for the future of our great nation.”
Vice President Billy Blathras discussed his appearance on Fox and Friends early in the morning of day three of the RNC, where he explained the dire issues facing the youth to a massive national audience.
“I appeared on Fox and Friends, one of the mornings of the RNC. I was there to be on a panel to talk about issues that Gen Z particularly was concerned about for this upcoming election. I was able to talk about what CRA students are worried about and what they want to see candidates at the top of the ticket talk about while running their races.”
Blathras also mentioned the droves of other CRA members who made national and international media appearances.
“Additionally, other members of CRA were involved with other interviews with groups like the BBC, NYT, NBC, and other local media.”
Also on the third day of the RNC, CRA President Will Donahue addressed more than 150 journalists from around the world during a speech at the State Department’s foreign press center. Donahue’s speech touted the resurgence of the College Republicans under his leadership, explaining that the College Republicans went from nearly 30 chapters nationwide to 155 chapters with 7,000 participating students; a quintupling the amount of active CR chapters in just one year.
Donahue also discussed failures of the Biden administration and its impact on voting trends among the College Republicans. Donahue went on to proudly declare that “The College Republicans [of America] are some of Donald Trump’s fiercest advocates.”
Vice President Guidarini captured the spirit of the RNC, celebrating the emerging youth wing of the party and casting a optimistic vision for the country.
“The RNC was an incredible event with so many good moments. For many of us, this is the first truly in-person convention that the party has held since we were in middle school. Patriotic, freedom-loving Americans descended on Milwaukee throughout that week, and among them were a new generation of Generation Z conservatives from all walks of life, ready to make an impact. We at CRA are incredibly excited to have worked all week and going forward in harnessing this energy so we can build a better future for this country.”
