Florida Atlantic University CRs Meets with America First Senator Rick Scott
A group of just under two dozen Florida Atlantic University (FAU) CRs recently had the opportunity to meet with Florida Senator Rick Scott, discuss 2024, policy issues, and more. FAU CR Chairman Yago Cecchini described the get-together as “pleasant” and highlighted the unique individual attention given to the CRs by Scott.
Rick Scott, the junior senator from the state of Florida, has a strong America-first record that he proudly showcases on his website. Scott is widely regarded as one of the most authentically conservative GOP members in the Senate, having drawn up a 12-point plan that proposes strong responses to the many issues plaguing the nation, ranging from border insecurity to election security.
“Scott was in Boca Raton, Florida for a fundraiser and made some time to come meet with our club before heading back to D.C. We had about 20 people come out for the event,” Chairman Cecchini said. “He spoke for roughly 10 minutes about the importance of youth involvement in politics. He then took photos with each of us and had a short Q&A.”
Despite the short time the club had with the famous senator, they regarded the engagement as extremely valuable. “He was very pleasant and, best of all, showed a genuine interest in hearing what we had to say and what we thought about the issues facing the country,” remarked Cecchini.
Chairman Cecchini hinted at developing further ties with Senator Rick Scott and the influential Florida GOP. “Our members were grateful for the opportunity to meet the senator and look forward to hopefully hosting him on campus at some point in the future,” he said.
While other organizations sit idly waiting for victory, the College Republicans of America and its constituent chapters are working tirelessly to create strong, meaningful connections that put conservatives closer to taking America back from the Democrats.
