CRA President Will Donahue Visits Arizona Chapters
Recently, College Republicans of America President Will Donahue traveled throughout Arizona to meet with CRA Chapters there, including Arizona State University and University of Arizona, the two largest schools in the state. During his meeting with state board members and individual chapters, Donahue talked about strategies for the upcoming election season, setting up new chapters, and growing member engagement. Arizona is a battleground state for the upcoming presidential election, and CRA is taking this challenge head on.
The most crucial part of the trip was prepping the Arizona college republicans to reinvigorate the ASU chapter and prepare for the upcoming election cycle. State CR chairman Isaac Humrich assured that the state is committed to the CRA goals. Donahue stated, “I’m confident that our chapters in Arizona will put up big numbers and make a serious difference in the upcoming election. Embry Riddle and University of Arizona in particular have been doing great work and have recruited dozens of new active members.”
University of Arizona CR president, Ricky Guthridge, talked with Donahue about Tucson politics and the growth of his chapter since joining CRA. Arizona State University president Olivia Szewczyk, discussed their over 600 students, (over 4,200 total in Arizona.) They worked on strategies for activating those students and getting them reengaged heading into 2024. AZCR students are looking forward to working with candidates from the president at the top to the most local positions throughout the ballot.
Also looking forward, CRA is looking to grow in the state. On these plans, Donahue stated, “We’re looking forward to starting a greater Phoenix Area club for Grand Canyon students and getting the Northern Arizona chapter up and running as well.” CRA’s commitment to winning in Arizona is made clear by the president marking the visit, and the odds of this happening is are looking up after these productive strategy meetings around the state. Keep an eye on Arizona in 2024!
